DESCRIPTION

The GlacierX Combo pairs this season's upgraded ice rod with the new GlacierX reel — color-matched, ready to mount, and less than buying them separately.

The rod: a carbon fiber base with three interchangeable fiberglass tips (ML, M, MH) and larger ceramic guides that stay clear longer in the cold. Choose 28" for shanties and tight quarters or 33" for open ice.

The reel: a magnetic brake dial for finer control over your drop, a spool-release trigger for one-hand free-fall, 3+1 bearings, a 2.8:1 gear ratio and an 18 lb star drag.

Black Teal, or a White Camo rod with a White Gold reel. Left- or right-hand retrieve. The reel ships without line. Rod and reel are both backed by our 5-year warranty.

FAQ

Which tip should I use?

ML for panfish and trout (6–8 lb line, 1/4–3/8 oz lures). M for bass and walleye (8–12 lb, 3/8–3/4 oz). MH for pickerel and pike (12–20 lb, 3/4–1 oz). All three tips come in the box, so you can switch as the bite changes.

Will the guides freeze up?

In hard cold any guide can collect ice. GlacierX now uses larger ceramic guides, which give ice more room before it chokes your line, so you stop to clear them far less often than with small guides.

What does the magnetic brake dial do?

It controls how fast the spool turns when your lure is dropping. Dial it up to slow a light jig's fall and stop overruns; dial it down to let a heavy spoon get to the bottom fast. Squeeze the trigger to drop, let go to stop.

Does the reel come spooled with line?

No. GlacierX reels ship without line so you can spool exactly what you fish. Add a spool of Dream Braid 8X or MonoX line above and it ships in the same box.

Left-hand or right-hand retrieve?

Pick the hand you crank with. Right-hand retrieve = you turn the handle with your right hand (and hold the rod in your left). Left-hand retrieve = the opposite.

What warranty comes with GlacierX?
