First day using my new rod with the medium heavy tip resulted in catching a northern pike (unfortunately it was pretty small) and I really liked the feel and control I felt while reeling in the fish. I was using a Pflueger reel that was easy to install, and it felt like a well-balanced combo. I am planning to try the medium tip later this season while jigging for walleye. Bottom line is that it felt like a high-quality rod and I will probably buy more in the near future.
I love the rod guides, the real seat, the wood handle, and the overall sensitivity of the rod. However, I'm somewhat uncomfortable with what seems like an extra 3" to 4" in the handle length. For an average guy with an average arm length, it comes way too close to my elbow for certain fishing technique uses.
Great rod, only feedback would be to work on the finish if the gap between the 2 pieces of the rob. The weight and performance alone earns the 5 ⭐️ rating!
Sorry, I havent taken it out of the shipping box yet. Got it for my son for his BD yesterday but havent seen him yet. I have no doubt he's going to love it!!! Plan on getting myself one too as soon as I get the $$ together. Thank you for the follow up, I'll let you know when he opens it 😉😊
This is a great rod for the quality and price. It's like you get 2 for the price of one with the dual tips. It's very light, sensitive, and easy to store. I'll be adding more to my arsenal soon.
What a great combo.Love the action and feel of the rod. First day had M tip on and was catching nothing but 3" panfish. Day 2 I put on the ML tip figuring more tiny panfish. Instead I landed 3 bass about 16-18" long. Two largemouth and my first smallmouth bass through the ice. That's was a blast!!
